The Wildlife Garden Stream
A garden design just outside of Carlisle which aimed to completely revitalise an existing water feature and pond and integrate a new viewing point patio, and kitewinder stone steps, whilst maintaining a natural country aesthetic and emphasis on attracting wildlife.

This is a water feature which flows along a full width of the garden. Starting at the top of the garden, two inlets flow into a beached wildlife pool where two feature acers overhang the pool and look fantastic. The exit of this pool flows through a narrow section of tumbling stream over cobbles and finally twisting over a stunning wide waterfall drop and into a woodland pool. Out of this Woodland pool the water slows and makes its way around a pair of feature boulders, finally swinging around another stunning acer and spilling into a narrow pond.

The brief allowed us to create something very authentic and natural looking, and working within existing mature Hostas, Ferns and Astrantia gave the water feature an instant mature look upon completion.
A feature mosaic patio gave the platform for a bench to look right up the stream from the bottom of the garden. The sound of the water flowing towards you from this spot created such a great relaxation area and somewhere to take in the new pond and water feature.

Stepping down.

Hand made from the same stone as the pond and stream, these kiteinder steps are rustic, bespoke and are set on an arc which invites you down to meet the stream by the pond entrance.

Hand-made and totally unique, theycontinue with the theme of the garden design and over time the edges will be softened by surrounding plants to create a stunning journey down through the garden.
