The Courtyard Stream Project

A full garden design in Cumbria which contained some of the most technically ambitious elements we have designed to date. Centerpiece of the project was a four meter diameter natural stone mosaic patio which interacted with the stream at different levels.

The pond has a cavern rocky look to it on this project and the depth achieved was ideal. This water feature provides both the welcoming entrance to the front of the house and also the space to relax and entertain further up the stream. There's a variety of waterfalls in this water feature, a multiple broken waterfall at the top of the stream, a singular grand entrance waterfall which spills into the pond, and some smaller falls along the flatter section of the stream.

The tailored seasonal planting scheme will provide interest, colour and scent throughout the year. There's a wave of Lavender which frames the entrance of the mosaic patio, providing the scent to relax by. Three Cotinus stand tall in the rocky bank and give a lovely rich colour leaf.

With the project site located half a mile down a woodland track, this project did contain its own unique logistical challenges. However with those overcome we've managed to create a landscaping project where the water feature is integrated so well with the whole garden and provides the focal point to enjoy the outdoor space.

The infinty edge mosaic

This is certainly the place to relax, entertain and enjoy being on this project. The infinity edge mosaic sits below the main entrance waterfalls, at the same level as the flat winding section of the stream and then overhangs the pond.

Technically the most challenging element of this design due to the height levels having no room for error. The mosaic patio comes to life further with the addition of outdoor furniture and lights, which extend the enjoyment of this unique space into the evening.
