The Cascading Limestone Feature Project
A special landscaping project in The Lake District which was a pleasure to create. It was an opportunity to work with a limestone that we rarely use, we found it an ideal type of rock to create all manner of twists, splits and rapids all along the cascading stream. Central to the design was a feature 'splitter' rock which looks lodged into the stream bed and forces the water to diverge around it.

The stream cascades down the hillside into a limestone pool, where another natural spring inlet meets the stream to create a framing entrance with so much movement of water. All of this is angled towards the house which creates an ideal space to relax and take in the new surroundings.
